Responsibility for Tolls and Fines
If the individual renting your camper incurs a road toll, congestion charge, or penalty fine during the hire period (e.g., for illegal parking, speeding, or crossing a toll bridge), the fine is typically issued to the registered owner and keeper of the vehicle.

What to Do If You Receive a Fine
If you receive a fine or penalty notice, we recommend paying it immediately to avoid additional charges. Once paid, contact XCamper with the relevant details, and we will seek to recover the cost from the traveller on your behalf and arrange reimbursement.

How to Prevent Issues
To ensure a smooth rental process and avoid unexpected charges, consider:
Informing Travellers in Advance: Provide details on known toll routes, congestion charge areas, and parking restrictions that may apply during their trip.
Using an Automated Toll Payment System: If your camper has an automated toll device (such as a tag for the Dartford Crossing), inform the traveller how it works and include any fees in the rental agreement.
Outlining Responsibilities in the Rental Agreement: Make it clear that the traveller is responsible for any fines incurred and should notify you if they receive a penalty during the hire period.

By taking these steps and maintaining open communication with the traveller, you can minimise the inconvenience of fines and toll charges during the rental period.
